Victory! The District of Squamish council voted 4-3 to deny the Temporary Use Permit for Woodfibre LNG's "floatel". We're grateful to Mayor and Council for listening to the community's concerns and holding Woodfibre LNG accountable when other regulators have failed us.

Please take a moment to thank Mayor and Council for their courageous leadership!

Why is this important?

Woodfibre LNG has had nearly 10 years to make a plan to safely house its workers and to secure community support. Instead, Woodfibre LNG has invested in a cheap and temporary solution that fails to leave a legacy for the community.

Where other levels of government have failed us, Squamish Council listened to our concerns and refused to succumb to pressure from industry. They stepped up and held Woodfibre LNG accountable, which took real courage.

Let's show council our gratitude!

We’re concerned that Woodfibre LNG might pressure Council to back down on this decision, so please take a moment to thank Mayor and Council. Use the template letter above (easiest) or email council directly with a personalized letter: council@squamish.ca (most impactful).
